Ancient Shankar Mandir (Shivji Temple) was built 400 years ago. During Peshwa reign this temple was built without shikhar. Original temple was built using local blackstone. Sabha mandap hall was added and the roof of this hall was extended behind to Garbagriha (Sanctum) during Mughal period so that the mandir would not be destroyed.

Local devotee Shri Bapu Deshpande took keen interest in restoration of this ancient temple. A renowned person Mr. Ram Pradhan and Architect Mr. Ajit Gupte are taking keen interest for this noble cause.
